USA Hockery

Talking about a pitiful showing. Losing today to Finland. They finished the Olympics at 1-4-1. This is hillarious. Im one of the biggest sports hockey fan, but come on. With all the talent in the NHL and this is what they come up with. Maybe the should have just sent the whole Carolina Hurricane team. lol. Is it just there egos clashing or what? How can a team of pros like that not even compete?

America isn't some hockey super-power. That's why, in the NHL, most of the players come from Canada, Russia, and the Scandanavian country's. Finland was no pushover either. They had scored 19 goals and given up 2 in 5 games. Probably the odds on favorite to win the gold.

True, i never really thought of it that way. That would sure explain alot anyway. I follow the hurricanes but i dont have Cable to watch the games. But when you are looking at just a boxscore, its not really saying alot. lol thanks for clearing that up

Good Gawd!! I think that's the first time anyone on here has ever changed someones mind or said they were wrong. A day to be remembered for sure.

The U.S is a team in transition right now. Going in, I knew we'd be lucky to get bronze (expected no better). The truth is that we have promising young players, but too many old guys who should have stayed home. The next Winter Olympics will see a good American squad (since the old farts will be home and the young guns will be more mature).

Olympic hockey was much more fun when the teams were comprised of amatuers.
